Is there an low RAM using linux-dist?

Hello guys!

I got an old computer, 128Mb RAM and 500 Mhz CPU.

I would like to use this as a computer just for a web browsing to look at youtube and such stuff in a chiĺdrens room.

What do you think guys is there any linux distribution suitable for this hardware?

I just tried to install latest Ubuntu but it does not seems to be possible, it has been struggling for over two hours now.

Best regards
Fredrik

Hello guys!

Thanks for all dist alts!!
(Really hard to choose!)

My plan was to install it to the harddrive, that no contains 2 windows partions.

I noticed one thing that it seems to require to be a linux partion at the hard dirve before an install can be done.

Could I ask you guys how do I manage that?
It would be great if I could wipe the harddrive and use it all for the small linux dist.

Best regards
Fredrik

Correction, I wrote:
"My plan was to install it to the harddrive, that no contains 2 windows partions."

Should be:
My plan was to install it to the harddrive, that noW contains 2 windows partions.

Sorry!

The installer should offer to delete existing partitions and create the new ones needed.

Hello Guys!

You really open a new world for me!

Now I have tried out several diffrent small linux such as.

DSL
Puppy
Slitaz
Core
...

How ever, my aim was to run it on some very old hardware and to use it for youtube.

It turned out that my hardware seems to be to slow for this purpose.
I got some hints that the following might help. If I got time and figure out how to do (1-2) I will try it. But as the guy I spoke to said; I should not expect any miracle:

1) Making your  /home  and  /opt  persistent will get them out of RAM
2) Creating a swap partition and using that instead of zswap
3) Set cache as low at is can be in the browser.

Best regards
And please give svar so I can reward you guys!
