Hej Efter at have kigget på bunkevis af guides, som ikke virker. Findes der ikke en guide som beskriver opsætning osv. til XP?! Jeg skal bare have noget lokalt netværk til at fungere mellem en samba server på red hat 8 og en XP computer. Jeg kan ikke engang se sambaserveren i netværkssteder eller noget... arggghh!

du skal normalt kun gøre 1 ting for at få et default install til at virke og det er at sætte workgroup til den workgroup dine windows maskiner er i. dette gøres i config filen .. gå ind på redhats hjemmeside og se hvordan du tilføjer en bruger ..
Ok, nu prøver jeg er konfigurere via swat, men ikke engang det virker.
Det her er mit swat fil:

Og jeg har genstartet smb med /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb restart.
Er det nødvendigt at skrive et netbios name i smb.conf?
Hey, lige pludselig bliver min samba server vist på XP computeren. Men jeg kan ikke komme ind på den. Jeg har tilføjet en user til smbpasswd, hvad kan det være?

Ovenstående er de filer jeg har rettet/oprettet i, og XP computeren hedder "BOLE".
Jeg kan stadig ikke få adgang til Sambaserveren,når jeg prøver at connecte til den... Der kommer en fejlmeddelelese om at jeg skal kontakte netværksadministratoren! DOH!?
