Remove broken soundcard

Hello Guys!

One of my PC:s did not start up yesterday. During startup it beeps a couple of times. I removed bit by bit and pin pointed it down to the soundcard. I have not done anything with it so it "sounds" strange that it got broken ;-) How ever I can live without it so I removed it.

But at next boot Win XP did not startup. I could just start it in safe mode.

But in safe mode, what should I do so I can get and save I proper new  configuration so I can start it without the soundcard? Or could I see what it complains about?
