Printeren skal følge maskinen og ikke brugeren

Please excuse me writing in English, but I can't spell in Danish!

How do I use Active Directory to install a printer on a certain ( Windows XP ) machine so that all users on that machine are assinged the same printer (the nearest printer).
At the moment, when I install a printer when logged on as a certain user, the printer becomes part of the users roaming profile and the same printer is installed no matter which machine is logged onto.

What I want is this: A particular printer assinged to a particular machine, for all users.

Thanks for your help

Kixtart login-script can solve your problem, but I don't know if this is the way you want it to be done.

Take a look at www.kixtart.org

The idea is to check if pcname equals the name of your winxp pc. If this is tru then install the nearest printer

You will have to install the printer logged on with local administration user rights and then install the printer not from the AD but as a loccally installed printer. This printer will then be install in the all users folder instead of in the logged on user folder. Everyone has now access to this printer from the machine.

Yes, it works when one logs on as an administrator and sets up a printer with a local port that points to the network share
