*** What apps are running in the back ground ***
Can you help me find out about the below test results.
This is w2k Danish Language version.  "Batterimåler" means "Power Meter".
I have tested for hidden progs, virus  etc with Norton Virus, Eset NOD Virus,
Adaware, SpyBot and PestPatrol.
Some  things are OK I think, But others I am not sure of.
What is "SYSTEM AGENT COM WINDOW", "UnErase Process","MuaCOM" and "Default IME"
Do you know what they are, and what to do about them.

Hopfully tonib

Hi Toni,

Thank you for contacting Protonic. My name is David and I will be assisting you
with your question

The Windows that you are asking about are as follows:-

The "Default IME" windows (IME is means "Input Method Editors", which are just
applets that allow the user to enter localised characters using a standard
101-key keyboard) are created automatically by the system when you run an
application that is non-IME aware to provide them with full NLS keyboard support

The "UnErase Process" is a Window created by the Symantec/Norton protected
Recycle Bin

The "SYSTEM AGENT COM WINDOW" and "MuaCOM" ones are internal "window-less
windows" (i.e. they have no visible UI) that are use when dispatching software
requests/callbacks across processes (or between a process and the operating
system)

These windows are all internal ones that are required for the correct operation
of the operating system and it's components and, as such, should be left running

If you have any additional questions regarding this matter, please reply to this
message and include this in the "Subject" line of your e-mail :"Ticket Tracking
Number 93101"

Once again, thank you for using Protonic for your tech support needs!
