How to design my network with fiber-connection?

Hello Guys!

I recently got a new fiber connection installed in my home. Before I got a ADSL connection.

However this gave me a challenge of how I should design it with new hardware.

The fiber is terminated in my basement, but my router, home-alarm etc etc is located in the center of my living area.

I do not got any possibility to install a cable between these points nor I can move my router and alarm to the basement.

My idea is to find some wifi-solution between these points.

Is it an extra wifi-router I need and use my present router as an extension to that?

Or do you guys see any other solution?
