MEDION'S NEW PC-Titanium MD 8008 that uses the "MSI Radeon 9600TX" is one very desirable PC, it appears.
Through the massive German Aldi chain of stores, it launched a PC with a 2.6 GHz P4, half a gig of DDD333 memory, 150 GB HDD and DVD Recorder and CDRW as well with lots of software for €1179 Euros -- without a monitor.
People went crazy for this unit and we learned that it sold 200,000 in the first 3 hours.
This comes as confirmation that MSI does makes the Radeon card for OEM on a contracting base.
MSI is the graphic cards manufacturer since it produces one million units of card per month.
MSI custom motherboard with SIS 648 chipset is inside so even plucky little SIS earned some from this deal. MSI has long term relations with Medion which could be one of the reasons why MSI got involved in the business.
MSI officially still denies the ATI card deal. µ
