TV Stream server

Hey

I got a FreeBSD server in my house and I would like to turn it into a tv stream server, so I can watch the TV from any of my computers at home :)

The input is normal old fashion analog tv signal and the output should be in something that works "out-of-the-box" on Mac and Windows. (I guess MPEG something)

What I need help with is to choose the card, so I dont have to hassle with driver problems

And what should I use on the server.. My guesses right now is VLS or MythTV.

Well is there any suggestion to which card and server I should use ?? Thx

i would recommed you to use VideoLand Server, it's fairly easy to set up and work on many platforms out-of-the-box :)

i must admidt that i dont know wich tv tuner card you should choose, as i dont have much experience with BSD variants - only Linux and the V4L2 API. you have to find a card thats compatible with a video capture API for BSD :)

Hmm thank you.. I ended by shifting to linux instead of FreeBSD and go with the V4L2 ;) Put an answer :)
