Ok, confirmation just in;
NT 4.0 SP5 RTM is DEFINITELY NOT released. The link being published;
http://download.microsoft.com/msdownload/sp5/x86/en/Sp5i386.exe will get you to a file to download, but it is a Release Candidate and
*NOT* the RTM. That means there will be changes to that file prior to
its final release, and if you download this link you'll only have to
download again when SP5 RTM is released.
I'm sure a bunch of folks are trying their best to help us all by
keeping their eyes open for this sort of thing on MS' site, but when
such announcements are made without confirmation there's obviously a
huge risk that folks end up, at least, having to download twice, and at
worst, thinking they've got SP5 RTM when they only have an RC (which may
cause other unknown problems).
I'd like to think you can rely on me to give you the best information
available when it comes to this sort of stuff, and while I might get
scooped every once in a while, I'm usually more accurate that most (ok,
not counting Adobe and NAI...;-]).
Look for the *REAL* SP5 RTM announcement soon.
