Hvad jeg kan læse mig frem til kommer besked 2 ofte hvis der er en ødelagt installation af asp.net 1.1.
prøv at lave en geninstallation af framework 1.1 og kør windowsupdate for at få evt opdateringer med.

"Based on my experience, this can be caused by a corrupted installation of
the .NET Framework 1.1. Manually removing the .NET Framework (steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=320112 should suffice) then using
best-practice techniques to reinstall it (selective startup using
MSCONFIG.EXE including only the Windows Installer service) should allow the
installation of .NET framework to succeed without error.

Best-practice reinstallation steps are:

**If you're on a Novell Network proceed with caution... you will need the
local Administrator account to successfully log on to the machine. If you
proceed without knowing the local administrator's password, you will lock
yourself out of your machine**

1. Download and extract the contents of attached MSCONFIG.ZIP (msconfig.exe)
2. Run it to launch the System Configuration Utility
3. Under the General tab, choose Diagnostic Startup
4. Under the Services tab, find and add a check to Windows Installer
5. Click Apply then Close
6. Reboot when prompted

NOTE: the settings in the System Configuration Utility will persist from
boot up to boot up. To get back to a normal startup, you must choose
"Normal Startup" in the utility and reboot. Failing to do so will result
in an inability to ¡®see?network resources, which can include your internet
connection.

7. Once rebooted, go to Start | Run... type "%temp%" then click OK to get
into your Temp directory
8. Delete all contents of %temp%
9. Run the program dotnetfx.exe which can be found in the DotNetFramework
folder on the WCU CD or in the WCU\DotNetFramework folder if you're using
the DVD... this will manually kick off the Framework installation.

har prøvet denne metode dr_chaos og det ser ikke ud som om det virker. Det er en Windows 2003 server og jeg har fuldstændigt geninstalleret alt. Så vidt som jeg også kom frem til var det en ødelagt 1.1. Men ovenstående løsning virker ikke.

Har du prøvet med en try/catch ?

ok hvad med denne her. Nogen får problemet p.ga sikkerhedsindstillinger:
1.  Go to: Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Configuration

2.  The .NET 1.1 Configuration module will appear.  Click on the "Runtime Security Policy" folder on the left hand side of the screen.

3.  Click on the "Adjust Security Zone" link in the body of the screen.

4.  Click "Next." 

5.  Click the "Local Intranet" security button (since our application is distributed through the company intranet.)

6.  Adjusted the security to "FULL."

I my self had the same problem with the jit debugger
Best way I found to fix this is to shut down the Dell support in your start up. I done this and it has not returned since.

det er ikke en dell maskine... det hjælper ikke at ændre runtime security policy osv. Har prøvet de ting du nævner før jeg skrev det første indlæg.

prøv at afvikle programmet på en anden maskine. eller har du prøvet det?

hmortensen - har afprøvet det med try / catch om Main dette medfører faktisk at den kører uden at smide en fejl(har added eventuelle fejlbeskeder i en messagebox) - så det må vist siges at det virker. Endvidere har jeg tilføjet MDAC setup til Setup projektet. Så smid et svar (begge to) - 150 til hmortensen for løsningen og 50 til dr_chaos for hans gode forsøg

Har afviklet det på 3 andre maskine ialt- og det virkede kun på en, nu virker det på alle

stenet.
Nogen gange er det bare ikke meningen at man skal forstå hvad der sker.

Hvor vidt det er en løsning kan diskuteres. Ærindrer dog en anden tråd for et stykke tid siden med samme symptomer, hvor der heller ikke kom nogle fejl efter tilføjelse af try/catch blok.
