saving files locally from flash.exe

does anyone know if it is possible and if so how to make a flash executable that when a user downloads this file and installs on their own computer they can -from the flash.exe- save a document theyve created there locally on their own computer. For example, I make flash.exe and put it up on a server. User downloads and installs this exe. In the exe, the user configures some variables and then presses save. At this point a dialogue pops up and ask them where to save. they point to a local folder and say ok. Then flash creates for example an XML document and copys it to the chosen folder. If this requires some kind of wrapper program like MDM or such to wrap the flash in then please let me know which one to use.
thanks.

You can use the Flash-object (Flash.ocx) in an executable written in ie. Visual Studio

ok. and that works without a net connection?...that is, via this ocx you can create an exe which a user can install and then save a newly created XML doc locally? Is the upload functionality (something similar to the fileReference obj in flash), something that is done flash side, or is it within vithin Visual Studio?

You create an exe and in that exe, you can use the Flash.ocx. From Flash you can communicate with the environment - and the exe then writes to the HD (or reads from it)

*LoL* I got it  ;o)

Open 'Components' and browse to:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash.ocx

- that's where it's situated on my PC  :)
