flash 8 bug?

I am going nuts. I'm building a project in flash 8 (that is with the new fantastic macromedia flash 8 software). I built the code and all worked great. Then I got the graphics from another source. the graphics were made with flashMX software. I saved them in flash 8. and then copied necessary MCs into my coded app. My library was then full of all kinds of new symbols. Then as I went on i experienced 2 problems:
1. graphics in the library started to dissappear(bitmaps would be suddenly blank). The name was there but not the picture. If I tried to import it again, it simply wouldnt take and Id have to go back to the older version.
2. When I went to compile it to the flash8 player, the little blue line would hop to 99% complete and just sit there while it locks up the app and drains my whole computer of processor power such that I sometimes have to reboot the machine.

anybody see this before?

Hi Globulus,

I am not sure if you can read Danish but the user called moebius6 in here have apparently had the same problem as you: http://www.eksperten.dk/spm/654739

Personally I haven't bought the Flash 8 yet. I always wait a couple of months to get rid of the worst errors and compatibility issues... but, I know it doesn't help you now.

hi globulous ;-)

jep had pretty much the same issues besides i never actually succeded in copy/pasting between the programs.
1: yes bitmap grapics (.jpg prog. as well as non-prog.) tend to dissapear
apparently in no methodical order, i've had bitmaps dissapearing on stage but stil work in the lib. and i've had libary items dissapear but stil active on stage (could drag the into the lib. again without updating (crazy shit!)
2: hav'nt seen that, the only other REAL problems i've had is the font-menu
normally i would use flash for browsning my font-lib. (when working, say with logotyoes) i easily browse through 2000 f-types without clutter at all, that is in MX, this procudure is bacially impossible with F8 (and yes i do use a dual 3.4Mhz MoFo killa machine)
--- small bugs:
mouse tend to stick to the "onion skin" but. if more than 100 frames are selected
selector tool tends to favour shapes rather than lines when working with many objects i more than 400% zoom

solutions:
wait to use F8 until those mudheads at MM deploy a mayor fix bundle.
i use it only for learning purposses NOT actual work, do that i good old MX  ;-)

sad but true...

BTW: his is my second edition, the first one i actually squeezed up the [blip..] on the sales person at the store, but this one has excatly the same problemes!

So i guess Larsholmgaard is on the right track by waiting for the real deal
and MM must be laughing all the way to the bank gloating over gullible fools like us actually still exist.

shoot me!

misery loves company

here is some advice for suckers like (this is real advice)
Save any working version you have in f8 as fMX
Reinstall fMX if you happened to upgrade like me and lost the mx version
go into f8 classes you might be using and copy them over to fmx classes
open your saved file in fMX
So far I havent had any of the same issues that i was having in f8.
Cross your fingers

all the best

by the way mobius I think you deserve some points for your sympathy!! send me svar and Ill send points
