1. In the Device Manager, Sound Video & Game Controllers, SBPCI128 Legacy Controller, check what resources the DOS emulation is using, determine the PC specs, processor, motherboard and chipset and details of other hardware etc . . 2. Then in the Device Manager, Sound Video & Game Controllers, SBPCI128 Controller, untick \'Allow LPT Sharing\' and reboot . . this will force the DOS emulation to use an IRQ other than 7, you should ensure IRQ 5 is free beforehand and the DOS emulation will move to IRQ 5 (you may need to reserve IRQ 5 for ISA/Legacy devices in the BIOS). 3. Restart in DOS-Mode, type CD c:\\progra~1\\creative\\ctsnd\\dosdrv
Try running APINIT.COM to initialise the card for use in DOS 7, note any error messages . . Try running APCONFIG.EXE which will display the current SBPCI128 DOS settings . . Try running APTEST.EXE which is a diagnostic utility which allows you to test the sound (Wave & MIDI) functionality on the card, note any error messages 5. Try running APLEGACY.EXE to test for any motherboard or chipset incompatibilities under DOS7. You will need to REM the EMM386 line in the CONFIG.SYS and the APINIT.COM line in the DOSSTART.BAT and make these file Read-Only to prevent Windows from altering them. The test will check that the IRQs are being accessed correctly. The test will generate timeout error messages if the SERR# is not connected. It will generate latency error messages if it appears that there is a propagation time issue. If APLEGACY.EXE hangs the PC this will also indicate that the motherboard/chipset may be at fault.
6. The following lines(or similar) should appear in the system files . . CONFIG.SYS DEVICE=C:\\WINDOWS\\EMM386.EXE
AUTOEXEC.BAT SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 P330 T2 SET SNDSCAPE=C:\\WINDOWS
7. Get the customer to try the following . . . . remove any switches fro the EMM386 line in the config.sys such as HIGHSCAN or NOEMS . . updated Soundcard drivers, . . try different PCI slots, . . lower the PCI VGA cards hardware acceleration via Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Performance -> Graphics, . . update the system BIOS, . . enabling \'non-maskable interupts\' in the BIOS may resolve the problem, this may be listed in the BIOS under NMI, Ram Parity, Parity or Parity Checking, . . check in the BIOS for an entry for Front Side Bus or FSB this may be set to 100Mhz, try reducing this to 83, 75 or even 66Mhz as a test, . . try different resources (changeable via the Device Manager, SBPCI128 Legacy Device).
Jeg gider ikke oversaette det, men det skulle loese dit problem.
