How to edit PATH for Java?

You can do so in /etc/profile or the users .profile

Just insert following 2 lines (please adapt to your path (I do not know where you installed java)

PATH=$PATH:/your/path/to/java
export PATH

an example:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/java1.5/bin
export PATH

In order to test it, just log out and back in - then run java -version

You might be able to determine the right path by using following command (it finds all installed versions of java)

find / -name java
