Re-enabling after hardening

Hello,

I have just hardened an IIS 5.0 and I have a few things that I am having problems with:

-        Network logons are disabled by the hisecweb security template and I need to re-enable it to allow a backup server to logon over the network.  Any ideas?

-        I need to create a user that can be used by the same backup system.  Is there a way to create a user whose password doesn’t meet the new password policy standards introduced by hisecweb?

Regards,
Saridski

The only way to create a new account with a password that does NOT live op to the new passwordpolicy is to modify the policy to a level that will allow the password, set the password, and then change the policy back to the stronger setting. That way the "weak" password will still be usable but if you want to change it again you are bound by the policy settings.
