problem med proftpd

Jeg har før stillet et spørgsmål til hvorfor min ftp altid gav timeout ved første forsøg på connect og kunne først logge på i andet forsøg, samt der ved login er temmelig lang ventetid på at den logger en ind
jeg fik ikke noget resultat frem og lukkede derefter,
meen nu er min maskine begundt at sende mig log filer over login på proftpd og der ses fejelene så meeen da jeg langt fra er prof til Linux smudder jeg lige log listen op her i håb om at en eller anden venlig sjæl nu kan hjælpe mig med at få rettet på dette problem
det ser ud til at der er 2 fejl på opsætningen meen ved ikke hvor og hvad der skal rettet

Du kan starte med at oprette en bruger med user id = 65533 og gruppe id=65533. Det vil løse det ene problem

Check desuden i proftpd.conf at du har følgende linie
ServerType Standalone

Der er noget der typer på at serveren prøver at BINDe til en forkert IP.
Hvordan starter du proftpd? Via inetd?

Det kan være forklaringen....
Hvis serveren startes (og fortsætter med at køre-hvilket skidtet jo gør), så kan der ikke startes en ny version at serveren (=Address already in use)
Prøv at fjerne den fra init.d og tilføj følgende linie til sidst i /etc/rc.d/rc.local
/usr/local/sbin/proftpd    (indsæt selv DIN egen sti til proftpd)
Dette starter serveren hver gang du booter.

Du kan også rydde op ved at lave en "killall proftpd" efterfulgt af "/usr/local/sbin/proftpd".
Derved lukkes en eventuel kørende server og en ny startes.

Det var lidt noget sludder jeg skrev. (læste init.d som inetd, hvilket ikke er det samme)
Men prøv alligevel at gør som jeg skrev. Det er ikke usandsynligt at det løser det andet problem.

Har du fået oprettet en gruppe og en bruger?

jeg har oprettet bruger og gruppe meen som jeg lige rettede før jeg kører ikke i init.d det var lige en forglemmelse

inden jeg lige begunder at rette i for meget jeg ikke selv kan gøre rede for vil jeg lige spørge...!
når jeg kører kommandoen "top" får jeg jo en oversigt over programmerne som kører
på denne er proftpd listet, meeen den står i standby er det ikke også sådan den skal stå ???

rc.local (på redhat) er en opstartsfil ligesom autoexec.bat på 'det andet OS'.
Her kan du starte serveren hver gang din pc bootes.
xinet prøver at starte en server hver gang der kommer en forbindelse. Ikke så smart...Derfor fejlen med at adderessen allerede bruges

standby betyder bare at den venter på at der kommer kunder i bixen.

EXACTLY!

(accepting connections) betyder netop at serveren kører og venter på forbindelser. Men når en ny bruger prøver at forbinde, prøver xinet at starte et program (proftpd) der kan håndtere denne (og kun denne) forspørgsel. Da proftpd allerede kører (den lukker nemlig ikke ned efter at have betjent een kunde) kan denne nye instans ikke åbnes.
Du skal derfor fjerne proftpd fra xinet og starte programmet een gang for alle, når din computer startes. Fx. i rc.local....

ok og så for at være sikker på jeg gør det rigtigt så skal jeg altså skrive
/usr/local/sbin/proftpd i min /etc/rc.d/rc.local og derefter fjerne filen i /etc/xinetd.d

hmm okey
nu har jeg gjordt dette meeeen har dog stadig problemet med waiting for response efter den connectede til ip nummeret
dog varer det længere nu før den kommer ind :-((
meen jeg kommer da på første gang
hvor ser jeg om der nu er opstået andre fejl med proftpd ?? altså en logbog eller sådan noget der kan vise det ???

hmm kørte lige kommandoen ps -Af | grep proftpd  igen
og må sige at det er jo ikke meget forandring der sketve ved at fjerne proftpd fra xinetd.d
resultatet blev presis det samme

det eneste der er ændret det er tiden og så er proftpd lidt langsommere når man skal connecte

Resultatet af ps er som det skal være!

Tilføj følgende til din proftpd.conf (hvis de ikke er der i forvejen)

tcpNoDelay        on
DefaultServer      on
UseReverseDNS      off
ServerIdent        off
SystemLog          /var/log/proftpd.debug.log
LogFormat          default "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %s %b %T"
ExtendedLog        /var/log/ftp.log auth,dirs,read,write default


Det sørger dels for at logge en hel del i to logfiler, samt fjerner pausen (tror jeg)

13:20:15> check i din /etc/passwd at du har følgende:
proftp:x:65533:65533::/dev/null:/bin/false

og i /etc/group skal du have følgende:
proftp:x:65533:

til den første ja ftp var genstartet og derefter kunne jeg ikke komme ind på den mere
blev simpelthend smidt af hver gang jeg forsøgte

passwd & group står som du der beskrevede

Så skulle den køre igen..

Med hensyn til den lange logon tid så har jeg samme problem og ingen af de oven nævnte
ting løser det.
