How????

you make a SMTP address on the exchange (costume recipient) with the email info@myotherdomain.dk
then you go to the email tab and add a second SMTP which is info@mydomain.dk

this one is not the replay address and it should be allowed as inbound on the IMS

- I have created a custome recipient with the email info@myotherdomain.dk.
- In that dialogbox I also set up one more smtp (info@mydomain.dk) under the email tab.
- The info@myotherdomain.dk SMTP is written in bold and the other isn\'t, and there is also a \"X400\", a \"CC\" and a \"MS\".

But if I try to email the info@mydomain.dk, it will not be forwarded to info@myotherdomain.dk

:) I am back...
you made it right, make sure that on the IMS (internet mail service) properties, you allow your domain as inbound connection under \"routing\"
you will need to restart the IMS service.

also, needless to say, your domain needs an MX record that point\'s at your mail server.

also... make sure that the smtp address on the general tab is the end (final destination) address

dr.m -> rewind!

\"make sure that on the IMS property....\" WHAT????

How in the name of the good god do I allow my domain as inbound connection under routing?

\"skær det ud i pap\" :)

...please!

dr.m -> nice made!

I didn\'t know that www.mike-tech.com is yours....

...I like it alot! I\'ve got it bookmarked :)

But at www.mike-tech.com/intim.htm ill. 3 you have selected \"Reroute incoming SMTP mail\", but at my Exchange i got \"Do not reroute...\" marked.

What are the consequesces if I change the setting???

It\'s only 10 out of 100 mail accounts that needs to be rerouted, will this setting reroute all incoming mails???

Glad you like it.

Change that. it means only that you can use forward tricks like the ones you want to make.

2 thinks 2 make sure though.

see ill. 5 and 6.

the first one is to prevent relay
and the second one is just using DNS which is necessary.

either way you will be able to get your old settings back so there are no none reversible implications.

btw, remember that a way to check that mails are actually routed in and out of your mail server is by sending a mail from a client to bounce@dknet.dk you will get a mil back if all is OK.

hallo - dr. m
Sorry I didn\'t get back to you.
I had some problems after installing sp3, so I haven\'t gotten around to it yet.

Though I thing I have found an workaround less complicated.

Just set up a rule to forward all mails sent to these accounts, and then set the rule to be executed at the server.

Can you see any problems regarding this solution??

I believe that your solution might be the correct way to handel this, but since it only concerns max 10 accounts, wouldn\'t it be a bit of a overkill??

Regards,

Tim

It\'s an OK \"work around\" but that is exactly what it is.

it will take longer time to create and you are depended on creating a client with server rules.
there is also the risk that the client will have to many rules which will make your exchange server refuse few. I have seen it happen.

But its OK! As you wisely said your self, the right way is the one suggested here but it\'s not the only way :)
